Light: Bright filtered light or gentle morning sun; protect from Phoenix afternoon sun and reflected heat.
Water: Low water once established; water thoroughly when soil dries, then allow it to dry again. During extreme summer heat, avoid frequent watering if growth slows. Water sparingly in winter.
Soil: Fast-draining cactus mix amended with pumice or coarse mineral grit; use containers with drainage holes or raised planting areas.
Mature size: Individual rosettes reach 6–12 inches tall and wide; offsetting clumps can spread 12–24 inches. Flower stalks rise approximately 18–24 inches.
Bloom: Typically blooms in late spring to early summer once mature; flowering rosettes do not die after blooming.
Evergreen / deciduous: Evergreen.
Growth rate: Slow to moderate; faster in mild weather with appropriate watering.
