Arabian Jasmine

Jasminum Sambac

The Arabian Jasmine is a loose-growing vining shrub that blooms with such breathtaking fragrance; it rivals those of the citrus family and even the infamous Gardenia! It may bloom sporadically throughout the year, but you will most likely observe it in all its glory during the summertime. It has a tendency to perform extremely well in containers, and with its heavy fragrance, as well as attractive dark green foliage, it is an ideal candidate for any shady, oasis-like patio location. This plant requires very minimal pruning and produces very little debris, a perfect combination for the lazy gardener.

Light Needs:This shrub can handle some sun in Arizona but we have found it thrives in the shade or filtered sun. The Arabian Jasmine also does well if it has morning sun but is in the shade by the time the hottest of the afternoon sun comes.

Watering Needs:Water regularly – weekly or more often in extreme heat.

Average Landscape Size: This plant will grow up to 10 feet.

Key Features: Fragrant flowers.

Blooms: Late summer and fall.

Poisonous: No.
